Note: As you prepare your floats, please keep in mind that state law prohibits persons or groups participating in the parade to throw candy from their float entry or from persons walking with the float entry. Candy may be passed out to the crowd by entry participants (Utah State Code Section 41-6-114). In the past, there have been a number of near miss auto/pedestrian accidents that could have severely injured participants and/or spectators.
In an attempt to keep the event joyous and accident free, parade marshal’s will be placed throughout the parade route and violators will risk penalties involving future parade involvement or sanctions allowable by state regulations.
